Nore Barn Woods Celebration Friday October 17 2014

The Celebration Party was held last Friday - see attached.   It was a huge team effort and great support was given by everyone. We were impressed by the number of VIPs and Friends who turned up. Mark Stanton, (Chairman of the Friends of Chichester Harbour), cut the ribbon and made a speech at the event, certainly seemed amazed by our community- led effort.

We had a lot of good feedback from local people, funders, Councillors and the Friends of Nore Barn Woods.  There has already been press coverage in The Evening News (Havant edition) last Saturday and David Linington is busy updating the website with lots of photos. (www.norebarnwoods.org.uk)

We also presented the patchwork quilt made by Diana Williams and raffled at the tea party back in June.  The winner, Kathryn Bingham was photographed with the quilt.

With the revetment work now complete we would like to thank all of you who have helped during the five years we have been working to achieve the shore protection.  Of course there are still the regular working parties and we hope to see some of you there, but this part of the shore project is now complete and we are delighted with the final result.
